Our vanilla sponge is a beautiful light, melt in the mouth Genoese style sponge. It's perfect for making celebration cakes, stacked cakes or simple afternoon teas. Just choose your preferred shape, size and the number of layers of sponge you would like. Our layer options are simple, just select whether you would like 2 layers of sponge or 3 layers of sponge (just like our photo). Each layer of sponge you receive will be baked in it's own tin so there's no need for slicing...unless you would like to. There's lots more information below so please read through carefully!
Each layer of sponge measures approx. 1.5 inch deep and they are baked in individual cake tins. Choose from 2 or 3 layers (see image for an example of 3 layers of sponge cake).
We bake our
cake layers in individual tins of the stated size so shrinkage will occur once cooled.
Shelf life up to 2 weeks but you can freeze your cake for up to 3 months.
Delivered
by courier direct from our bakery so may arrive separately from the rest of your order.
Two day
turn around. Order before 11am for your cake to be baked the same
day and dispatched on the next working day (this is on an express delivery option only - see post and packing section for extra/standard delivery information). Don't need your cake straight away, see our 'Delivery Information' tab below to delay your delivery.

This cake is not decorated! You will receive your sponge cake ready to decorate yourself (as per the image above).
Our Vanilla cake is perfect for stacking and carving when using the correct supports e.g. dowels, cards, etc..

Your cake will have storage instructions includes - please read upon receipt to maintain freshness.
Ordering in advance (for freshly baked sponges only): If you would like to order your sponge cake(s) in advance for delivery or collection on a specified day, just leave us a note in the shipping instructions box. This box is located under the address information at the checkout. Let us know what date you would like your sponge cake delivered/collected and we'll bake it to suit (please note that if you're ordering other items, these will be delayed and shipped with your sponge). Deliveries are made Monday to Friday only!
PLEASE NOTE: If you request a delivery on a Monday, the cake will shipped out on the Friday as our courier collections are Monday-Friday. This could mean that there is a possibility you could receive your delivery on the Saturday if the courier is in your area.
